E-mail your questions to Karl@MoShootingStar.com .

When will you have a beginner pistol class?
It will be listed on the schedule page as an NRA Basic Pistol Class.
If there is not one listed, please E-mail Karl@MoShootingStar.com and let me know that you you would like to take a Basic Pistol class.
There is about a 6-8 week (min) lead time needed for me to schedule, order training materials, and receive student materials, for an NRA Basic class, so please let me know as soon as possible that you are interested.

I moved to Missouri and I have a CCW  Permit (or equivalent) from another state.
or
I live in Missouri and have a Non-Resident CCW  Permit (or equivalent) from another state.
How can I get a Missouri CCW Permit?
You must take the required Missouri training.
There are several reasons that this will benefit you.
You will learn the Missouri laws, as they apply to concealed weapons.
More Missouri CCW Permit holders = More influence with our Law-makers in Jefferson City.
If you travel, some states do not recognize your non-resident permit.
Missouri CCW Permits are recognized in 38 states.

Unless stated otherwise with the information for a particular class, payment is required the day that you take the class.

At this time, we do not require a deposit for regularly scheduled CCW classes.

We accept Cash or Check only. We do not accept credit cards at this time.

Is it O.K. for others to post comments on the Missouri Shooting Star facebook page, or is it just for MoShootingStar to post information?

Yes, anyone can post comments or questions there. Please do. Sometimes I feel like I'm talking to myself with a keyboard. : )

You may even post a picture. Give me something to look at while I'm talking to myself. ; )

All I ask is, that you try to keep things relevant to firearms related topics.

Why don't you offer Utah non-resident CCW permits?

Through the last year I have had several requests for Utah non-resident permits. I believe that it would be a great dis-service to you, if I promoted non-resident permits from Utah, or any other state that offers that option.

Missouri CCW is good in 38 states. Several states do not honor any non-resident permits. That means if you have a non-resident Utah permit it is only honored in 29 states.

More Missouri permits equals money that stays in our state and more influence (for CCW Permit holders, & gun owners) in our state capitol.

Most importantly, if you get an out-of-state permit, you don't learn anything about Missouri Law. In my opinion, that is a huge mistake that could result in expensive legal problems for you.

At one time there were two states that honored Utah but not Missouri. It is not that way any more.

Missouri is honored in every state that accepts Utah Non-resident, plus 8 more.

Please share this information with your friends, especially if they are carrying a non-resident CCW permit from another state.

The only pro to a Utah permit is a 5 year renewal.

Update: Beginning 1-1-2011 Utah will require you to have a resident CCW permit from your home state (if available) before they will issue a non-resident Utah CCW permit.
