What to Bring
To be prepared for the Missouri CCW Permit Class, you need:
Get a good nights rest, we will cover a lot of information and spend time on the firing range.
Your Missouri Drivers License or Missouri State ID.
Enough drinks, snacks, and lunch to get you through an eight to ten hour
day. (bottled water is suggested) No alcoholic beverages allowed.
The firing range portion of the class is outdoors. Wear proper shoes.
Dress for the weather. This class will proceed in all, but the most severe weather conditions.
You may need sunscreen, coat, cap, gloves, etc.
We will be on the firing range for two or three hours. Make sure you are prepared.
Ear and Eye protection is required.
You might want to bring a lawn chair. (This is optional.)
You may bring a strong side belt holster. (This is optional.)
Extra magazines and or speed loaders are helpful. (This is optional.)
Semi-automatic pistol and a double action revolver. (You must shoot both.)
I suggest that you use a handgun that you plan to carry but it is not required. If you are planning on buying a new handgun to carry, I suggest you wait until after this class. Consider borrowing one from a friend or family member for the class.
If you are taking the class with a friend, you may share guns.
If you don’t have one or both let me know in advance and arrangements will be made to provide them for you to use. I do not allow single action revolvers to be used for the shooting portion of this class.
You will need to provide your own factory ammunition, for the pistols that you bring. You are required to shoot at least 50 rounds practice and 20 rounds to qualify with each handgun. The minimum amount of ammunition for this class is 70 rounds for your revolver & 70 rounds for your semi-automatic. That is 140 rounds total, in the calibers that you need for your guns.
I encourage you to bring more than the minimum amount. After everyone in the class has finished with the required qualification, the range is open for those that would like to continue shooting, as long as time permits.
Beginning 8-28-2011; The new requirement will be 140 rounds minimum. 70 revolver + 70 semi-auto.
